The Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC 2025) has just ended after seven weeks of elite, high quality competition across 25 tournaments and 24 titles. This highly coveted event featured over 2500 players and staff all over the world, competing for a share of the $70 million prize pool, with one team prevailing over the rest to be crowned the EWC Champions: Team Falcons

 

The Esports World Cup 2025 lit up a total of eight festival venues and four arenas, which is equivalent to nine football pitches, and was filled with competition, and entertainment. It attracted huge global attention, with more than three million visitors attending the Riyadh Boulevard City, joined by world class musicians, athletes and creators.  

 

A Rise In Tournament Viewership 

 

At the Esports World Cup Festival, the Content Creator Park hosted more than 30 mainstage shows with more than 50 partners delivering activations and experiences that generated 2 billion video views and 8 billion impressions across EWC channels. Activations from the Content Creator Park featured in more than 800,000 pieces of content shared by fans, teams and the EWC channels. 

 

The tournament viewership increased exponentially, as it saw a 63% increase in live viewership for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and a 182% increase in live viewership for Honor of Kings, making the EWC 2025 the most watched edition to date. 

 

The EWC 2025 broadcasts reached a record breaking 750 million viewers, with the esports arenas were all sold out, welcoming hundreds of thousands of fans, including 2000 from the Super Fans Program who traveled to Riyadh to cheer on their favorite teams. 

 

Esports World Cup 2025 Attracts Unprecedented Media Interest 

 

The global media interest for the Esports World Cup 2025 was unprecedented, with more than 4000 outlets covering the action and publishing over 30,000 articles worldwide. During the closing weekend of the EWC 2025, the New Global Sport Conference 2025 (NGSC 2025) gathered more than 1500 delegates, including 500 CEOs from gaming, esports, traditional sports, technology, and investment. 

 

During the NGSC 2025, the Esports World Cup Foundation announced the Esports Nations Cup – a landmark tournament where the best esports players in the world will compete for the honor of representing their countries. The inaugural edition will take place in November 2026, in Riyadh.
