Gaming and esports company GRID Esports has launched GRID Insights, an AI-powered analytics product for esports broadcasts and esports betting products. This product will help to generate a variety of insights into esports broadcasts, as it adds additional context to viewers in real-time.

GRID Insights made its debut in the Season 3 of the Champion of Champions Tour (CCT), a Counter-Strike 2 esports circuit which displays insights while matches are ongoing. The product also supports titles including Dota 2, VALORANT and League of Legends. Aside from the CCT, the product will also be used by the European Pro League, across its portfolio of esports tournaments. GRID Insights will also make provision for bookmakers in the aspect of adding great detail on insights for customers as they bet on competitions.

GRID Insights seeks to add to the storytelling engine of live esports through the use of official data, and the use of official in-game data and real-time pipelines will help in the generation of predictions, contextual statistics and behavioural patterns. These elements would have been previously put together by an analyst team.

GRID Insights is the second product launched by GRID Esports in 2025. The first one was GRID Stream, which was unveiled in May and serves as a video solution to provide bookmakers with real-time video feeds.

The esports industry continues to encounter changes, and the role of AI is impacting it in various ways, with stakeholders using it across a range of verticals. There has been the likes of esports organizations such as Cloud9 and NRG who have launched AI-powered chatbots to help increase fan engagement. Researchers in South Korea have also developed an AI-powered in-game observer which determines the most interesting parts of matches for viewers to watch.

There are already several esports events using the product, and it will be interesting to see in the coming months if there will be other esports organizations to follow suit and benefit from the real-time insights which have been designed to enhance the viewing experience.
